More than half of women surveyed in one of the University of Glasgow, said they approved of women beat their husbands.
Glasgow Caledonian students were among the 6500 women surveyed from 36 universities for an international study on attitudes about domestic violence.
Worldwide, more than 4,800 students admitted because of resistance to their partners and are 2000 registered push, push, slapping, throwing objects and twisting the arms of the partner or the hair.
